ULTRA: Is it worth the weight?

ULTRA: Is it worth the weight?

DROPPING GRAMS WITHOUT SACRIFICE

At Scribe, we are in a constant loop of evolution, chasing aerodynamics, stability, hub efficiency, weight, compliance, and new aesthetics.

In an industry where the data sheet wins. We believe that in some instances, it’s just not worth the weight. With the common use of carbon spokes to reduce weight and increase stiffness, something has to give, and the reduction in rim or hub structure can’t be sacrificed at the same time.

RELIABLE SPECIFICATIONS

For our previous SuperLight & all-new Ultra range, we trialed and tested new materials, layup schedules, and shapes to chase grams without sacrificing the integrity and ride characteristics that matter most. It’s a balance between hoop loads and spoke anchor point strength that allows our high-performance assemblies to be used well within all safety margins.

Could we produce a lighter rim and reduce the rider weight limit? Yes

Could our wheel technicians feel the difference? Yes

Would YOU notice it? More than likely NOT

Does it have a real impact on your ride? No

Would the longevity of the wheels be compromised? Yes

Is it worth it? No

We’re here to challenge and redefine, but if something is too good to be true, it more than likely is.
